Qualifications

Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.

  • Experience in Administrating Cloud environments, such as AWS.
  • Experience Administering/Sizing Clusters, such as Redshift/Snowflake/DataBricks/Hadoop.
  • Experience in CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies and DevOps styled deployments.
  • Expert knowledge of Cloud components such as DevOps scripts, S3 access management and applications configuration.
  • Experience in Data Organization skills, Partitioning strategies, Data retention policies.
  • Excellent investigative skills to find root cause for AWS Cloud problems, to perform Impact analysis for proposed changes.
  • Ability to identify and create detailed requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with other contract Government resources.
  • Industry experience a plus (Medicare, Medicaid, Healthcare or commercial insurance).

Responsibilities

Peraton has an immediate need in our Health Payer Segment for a DevOps Engineer to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Integrated Data Repository (IDR) Cloud Migration Contract. Ability to achieve Public Trust Clearance is required. Must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder who has worked in the US three out of the past five years.

The IDR responds to the Agencys critical need to have an integrated data environment that contains Medicare and Medicaid data (e.g. claims, beneficiary, provider, and plan data). The underlying technology of the IDR is an integrated Hadoop and Teradata Enterprise Data Warehouse. It supports the massive volumes of data associated with CMS program benefits. This cloud migration will include migrating data from IDR Teradata, migrating IDR streams, setting up the IDR Cloud Data Warehouse, and establishing an Operations and Maintenance plan.

POSITION OVERVIEW: The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for providing administrative support to an AWS Cloud data warehouse, addressing issues, and supporting activities needed to maintain the IDR Cloud AWS environment, such as user access/security/release/schedules management. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for administering the AWS Cloud Data Warehouse and cloud components such as DevOps scripts, S3 access management and applications configuration. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with the cloud engineering teams and Project Managers, supporting day to day operational incident, change, and problem management cases. They will be responsible for scripting, automating, orchestrating day to day operational tasks using AWS Cloud Formation/Terra form/Chef. They will work with the technical leads to develop full production support, processes, documentation and operations plan, including monitoring/alerting solutions. They will troubleshoot identity management and authentication issues and provide resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Applies subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex data issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate actions.
  • Supports Cloud Migration teams projects with AWS Cloud expertise.
  • Supports operation of the IDR Cloud AWS environment.
  • Provide user access/security/release/schedules management.
  • Work with federal and contractor staff to identify Cloud Migration requirements.
  • Follow established CMS standards for implementing Cloud configurations.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the other contract Government Task Leads as directed by CMS.
  • Works on problems / projects of diverse complexity and scope.
  • Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.
  • Strong proven analytical ability and ability to solve problems independently

Colorado Salary Minimum: $96,928.00
Colorado Salary Maximum:$207,209.60
