Description

Role Proficiency:

Acts under the guidance of DevOps leads to set up and manage DevOps tools and pipelines.

Outcomes:

  1.   Follow existing SOPs to trouble shoot issues Adapt existing DevOps solutions for new contexts
  2.   Code debug test and document; and communicate DevOps development stages/status of DevOps develop/support issues
  3.   Use appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components
  4.   Support users and onboard them on existing tools with guidance from DevOps leads
  5.   Work with diverse teams with Agile methodologies

Measures of Outcomes:

  1. Schedule adherence
  2. Quality of the code
  3. # SLA related to level 1 and level 2 support
  4. # Technology certification product certifications obtained

Outputs Expected:

Automated components:

  1. Deliver components that automate parts to install components/configure of software/tools in on-premises and on cloud under the guidance of the Lead
  2. Deliver components that automates parts of the build/deploy for applications under the guidance of the Lead

Configured components:

  1. Configure a CI/CD pipeline that can be used by application development/support teams

Scripts:

  1. Develop/Support scripts (like Powershell/Shell/Python scripts) that automate installation/ configuration/ build/ deployment tasks

Onboard users:

  1. Onboard and extend existing tools to new app dev/support teams

Skill Examples:

  1.   Install configure troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines and software using Jenkins/Bamboo/Ansible/Puppet /Chef/PowerShell /Docker/Kubernetes
  2.   Integrate with code/test quality analysis tools like Sonarqube/Cobertura/Clover
  3.   Integrate build/deploy pipelines with test automation tools like Selenium/Junit/NUnit
  4.   Scripting skills (Python Linux/Shell Perl Groovy PowerShell)
  5.   Repository Management/Migration Automation – GIT/BitBucket/GitHub/Clearcase
  6.   Build automation scripts – Maven/Ant
  7.   Artefact repository management – Nexus/Artifactory
  8.   Dashboard Management & Automation- ELK/Splunk
  9.   Configuration of cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/Google)
  10.   Migration of applications from on-premises to cloud infrastructures
  11. Working on Azure DevOps /ARM (Azure Resource Manager)/DSC (Desired State Configuration) & Strong debugging skill in C#/C Sharp and Dotnet
