The Role

Provide support to solution delivery teams in the migration to cloud and cloud-based CI/CD.  Deliver and support the DevOps CI/CD pipeline processes, platforms, tools, and services with a focus on designing and delivering standard services and leveraging standard services to meet the needs of business and applications teams. Coach and mentor staff on cloud and CI/CD processes, platforms, tools, and services.

The Responsibilities

DevOps CI/CD Design and Implementation Support

  • Partner with Solution Delivery staff and Cloud Platform engineers to build and deploy applications through the Signet DevOps CI/CD pipeline
  • Analyze, design, and configure DevOps CI/CD processes, platforms, tools, and services for the build and deployment of Signet applications
  • Coach and mentor application delivery staff on CI/CD and cloud processes and tools
  • Configure standardized reusable application code and infrastructure templates, and work with Solution Delivery teams to integrate into their applications
  • Provide CI/CD and cloud guidance and recommendations to projects, application development teams, and business staff
  • Ensure that Solution Delivery staff build and deploy applications following the Signet DevOps CI/CD and Cloud standards
  • Participate and/or lead application projects that impact or change the Signet DevOps CI/CD pipeline
  • Act as the primary expert and support resource for the nonstandard DevOps CI/CD user requests

DevOps CI/CD Systems Management and Support

  • Act as a 2nd level support for user requests and CI/CD application issues
  • Maintain the operation, security, compliance, and disaster recovery of the CI/CD pipeline as a whole as well as individual platforms and tools
  • Lead DevOps CI/CD platform and tool issues resolution activities that are impacting application delivery
  • Partner with application development teams to troubleshoot application build and deploy issues
  • Partner with cloud engineering teams to troubleshoot infrastructure build and configuration issues
  • Partner with solution delivery teams and cloud engineers to develop and version standard cloud application code and standard cloud infrastructure code
  • Proactively identify and resolve CI/CD issues before they impact business activities

Enable new capabilities

  • Lead DevOps CI/CD Maintenance and Continuous improvement projects that impact CI/CD platforms and tools
  • Partner with the Signet AWS Application Architect to design and refine the DevOps AWS cloud and CI/CD pipeline processes, platforms, and tools used to deliver services to application developers and stakeholders
  • Partner with solution delivery teams to continuously reassess, redesign, and evolve the current DevOps standard processes, platforms, and tools to meet the ever-changing needs of the business

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelors or Higher degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • AWS DevOps Engineer or Architect certification preferred

Skills & Experience

Required

  • Minimum 10yrs IT experience
  • Minimum 5yrs Cloud, DevOps, or Systems Architecture experience
  • Minimum 3yrs AWS architecture, installation, and operation experience
  • Minimum 3yrs CI/CD tool architecture, design, installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Minimum 2yrs Jenkins architecture, installation, configuration, and operation experience
  • Minimum 2yrs application development, scripting, or automation experience
  • Minimum 1yr Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Minimum 1yr Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure Templates infrastructure as code experience

Desired

  • Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, and BitBucket architecture, design, installation, configuration, and maintenance experience
  • AWS DevOps Pipelines setup, configuration, and operational experience
  • Ansible Tower and Playbook development experience
  • AWS EC2 including requirements, operations, auto scaling, monitoring, and pricing
  • S3 and Glacier for storage and backups.
  • Elastic Container Registry and Service
  • Kubernetes Service
  • Identity Access Management (IAM)
  • CloudWatch and CloudTrail (with networking coordination for flow logs)
