Summary:

Akkodis is seeking an Automation Engineering Manager for a direct hire position based in Dallas, TX. This job will work Central Time hours and will be a remote role. The desired candidate will have 8+ years of automation/DevOps experience, with 3+ years in leadership. You will be responsible for championing and driving the DevOps and Test Automation efforts by collaborating directly with multiple development teams to guide best practices for CI/CD, and automated testing and to foster a product-release mindset. This will involve leading the DevOps steering committee, building/maintaining automated product pipelines, designing/building monitoring and feedback systems and driving test automation improvements. This is an ideal position for an engineer who wants to exercise technical ability on a daily basis while employing and expanding leadership and management skills. Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Test Automation and DevOps engineers
• Design, implement, maintain CI/CD pipelines for multiple products
• Collaborate with engineering, authoring and other teams for automation best practices
• Extend test automation and build infrastructure functionality as products and needs evolve
• Support and deploy releases to production environments
• Mentor junior engineers and balance workload to ensure project milestones are achieved
• Provide tool and process support to development teams
• Handle difficult issues, identify and mitigate risks
• Brainstorm new products, updates and solutions to continuously improve products, performance, and processes
• Remain up to date on industry trends, share knowledge among teams and abide by industry best practices for configuration management and automation

Required Skills:

• Bachelors Degree in Technology – Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, etc. preferred
• 8+ years of hands-on automation/DevOps experience
• 3+ years of team leadership
• GitHub REQUIRED
• AWS experience REQUIRED
• Solid track record of leading high-performing teams
• Experience with Performance Management
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Proactive communication skills
• Knowledge of and experience with Linux, Mac, and Windows operating systems
• Expert-level knowledge and experience with GitHub and GitHub actions/workflows
• Strong knowledge and experience with AWS infrastructure (EC2, EKS, S3/CloudFront, CDK, etc.)
• Strong scripting skills in python, bash, etc.
• Understanding of IP networking, PKI, VPNs, DNS, load balancing, and firewalling
• Programming experience in Java/C++/Python or similar
