Description

The Sr. Cloud DevOps Engineer will join our cutting-edge and growing Cloud Innovation team. The candidate will have significant experience in designing and delivering innovative products and solutions using DevOps and latest cloud technologies and would join a Cloud Innovation team focused on delivering strategic projects partnering with a variety of business and technology teams to accelerate their business transformation.

The ideal candidate has a passion for learning new things, has strong AWS/Azure cloud foundations and is comfortable working across different platforms and languages and is inspired by working in a collaborative, fast changing environment with high degree of code sharing and reuse. Position can be based in Houston, TX or Bartlesville, OK.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Collaborate with Business, Security, Architect, and various Cloud teams to develop tools, solutions, automation, and patterns to solve problems and drive value.

  • Work closely with Data engineering, Operations, and information security teams to automate and support infrastructure and tooling in cloud-based platforms.

  • Leverage infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, Azure ARM) to architect and provision all workload resources and components using cloud-agnostic and/or cloud-native tooling.

  • Apply automated deployment tool sets and infrastructure including environments and code management using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.

  • Build solutions based on security, monitoring, logging, and alerting requirements. Integrate on-premise solutions with Cloud resources.

  • Monitor application performance and detect conditions affecting the health of IT cloud services in various cloud platforms.

  • Drive the implementation and rollout of application reliability, including disaster recovery.

  • Provide guidance and apply agile and DevOps/DevSecOps practices to streamline product delivery and reliable operations of products.

  • Identifies automation opportunities where possible to minimize all human interventions, increase transaction speeds, and the flow of information.

Position Requirements Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5 or more years of IT related experience

  • 3 or more years of experience working with cloud-based platforms in an enterprise environment

  • 2 or more years of software engineering experience in a team-based environment

  • Experience with programming tools, computer interfaces, and application architectures

  • Experience designing, deploying and monitoring infrastructure in public clouds (AWS, Azure) using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Cloud Formation, Azure ARM)

  • Experience with Pipeline Build/Release and CI/CD deployment build tools (Azure Devops)

  • Experience with source code management tools (Azure Devops, Git)

  • Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, PowerShell)

  • Advanced knowledge of on-premise and cloud-based networking, firewalls and network security

  • Experience deploying, managing, operating and monitoring applications in scalable, highly available and fault tolerant data centers (both on¬premise and hosted)

  • Experience learning, sharing, and implementing best practices with the ability to establish operational processes, implement DevOps, deployment checklists

  • Familiarity of container orchestration with Kubernetes

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field

  • Cloud Certified DevOps Engineer preferred (i.e. AWS, Azure, other)

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences adjusting style to fit the target audience including multiple levels of management

  • Significant and relevant Oil & Gas or technical industry experience, especially downstream

  • Strong/Expert knowledge of container provisioning and management (Docker/Kubernetes)

  • Experience with multiple programming languages

  • HashiCorp Stack knowledge (Terraform, Consul/Vault)
